The History of the Loveland Inter-Faith Effort


L.I.F.E. was organized in 1998 by a group of individuals supported by area churches and the Loveland-Symmes Fire Department as a food pantry to serve clients in the Loveland School District. The organization obtained 501(c)3 status and is now supported by 9 area churches, the Loveland Schools, area businesses, and the community at large.

Our main focus continues to be the Food Pantry. On average, 140 families, or about 375 individuals, visit the pantry each month. Eligibility for our programs is based on Federal guidelines using an income to family size ratio. Most of our pantry items come from individual contributions and local food drives. In an effort to target what is needed at the pantry, a weekly e-mail is sent to over 130 community individuals and several churches. L.I.F.E is governed by twenty-one Board of Directors representing the following member organizations:

  • Epiphany United Methodist Church
  • First Missionary Baptist Church
  • Loveland Christian Church
  • Loveland Presbyterian Church
  • Loveland United Methodist Church
  • New Hope Baptist Church
  • Prince of Peace Lutheran Church
  • St. Columban Parish
  • Loveland City School District and the community at large.

L.I.F.E. is overseen by a Board of Trustees who meet annually, and a Board of Directors who meet six times a year.
